LAX is one of the busiest and most confusing airports in the world. Knowing exactly where to meet your driver can save you 20 minutes of stress after a long flight. Here is a terminal-by-terminal breakdown of pickup locations for private car services.
LAX Terminal Layout Overview
LAX has 9 passenger terminals arranged in a horseshoe shape around a central roadway. Terminals 1 through 8 handle domestic airlines, while the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) handles most international flights. The upper level is for departures (drop-offs) and the lower level is for arrivals (pickups).
Where Private Car Services Pick Up
Private car services, limousines, and pre-arranged vehicles pick up passengers on the lower level (arrivals) of each terminal. Look for the white “Commercial Vehicles” signs on the inner curb (the island side, not the building side). Your San2LAX chauffeur will be waiting in this zone with your vehicle.
Important: Rideshare services (Uber, Lyft) do NOT pick up at the terminal curb. They use the LAXit lot, which requires a separate shuttle. This is one key advantage of booking a private car service — we are right there when you walk out.

Tips for a Smooth Pickup
- Text your chauffeur when you land. Even though we track your flight, a quick text confirms you are on the ground and heading to baggage claim.
- Collect all luggage before heading outside. Your driver will be in the pickup zone, and LAX security will ask vehicles to circle if they wait too long at the curb.
- Look for the vehicle, not a sign. Your San2LAX chauffeur will confirm the exact vehicle (black Escalade or Denali) and location via text before you walk out.
- Know your terminal number. Check your boarding pass or airline app — your arrival terminal may differ from your departure terminal, especially on connecting flights.
- International arrivals take longer. Customs and immigration at TBIT can add 30-60 minutes after landing. We factor this in when tracking international flights.
Skip the LAX Chaos
